Old Fashioned Christmas returns to Gladstone tonight

GLADSTONE — The Gladstone Old Fashioned Christmas will return this year on Friday, Nov. 26 with a variety of fun holiday activities for children and families to enjoy.

The event will begin with the tree lighting ceremony at 5:30 p.m. near city hall, located at 1100 Delta Avenue. Following the lighting, guests of the event will find Santa and live music at the Farmers’ Market.

Other activities include a kids’ make-and-take craft and hot dogs at Iverson’s Home Center, cookies and cider provided by the Gladstone Downtown Development Authority at Brampton Bike and Ski, a station for writing letters to Santa at Dance It Up, face painting and a take-home craft at D&D Dog Dynamics, games at United Evangelical Covenant Church, warm peanuts at Main Street Pizza, ice cream at the Dairy Flo, a chocolate treat at Frame Farm, treats at Great Lakes Credit Union, “reindeer chow” and coffee at the Dew Drop, and games at Xcellerate Gym.

In addition, burning barrels will be set up along Delta Avenue with all the ingredients for s’mores available.

Guests will also be able to take wagon rides from three pick-up and drop-off locations: the farmers market, Iverson’s Home Center, and United Evangelical Covenant Church, located at 305 2. 9th St.
