No new Virus cases in Delta

ESCANABA — Menominee County added two more confirmed COVID-19 positives but Delta County none Wednesday, local health officials reported.

The Public Health of Delta and Menominee Counties website Wednesday did list a probable positive in Delta County. Neither county recorded a new coronavirus-related death.

As of Wednesday, Delta County has had 3,340 confirmed positives, 692 probable cases and 92 deaths, according to PHDMC. Menominee County had 1,791 confirmed positives, 327 probable and 40 deaths. The deaths included confirmed and probable.

For the Upper Peninsula, the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services’ coronavirus website Wednesday showed 17 new confirmed positives: three in Houghton and Luce counties; two in Menominee and Marquette counties; and one each in Delta, Schoolcraft, Dickinson, Iron, Mackinac, Gogebic and Baraga counties.

Using only the state’s figures, the Upper Peninsula as of Wednesday has had 19,938 confirmed COVID-19 cases and 429 deaths.

Across the U.P., the MDHHS data site Wednesday had Keweenaw County at 143 confirmed cases and 32 probable, and one confirmed death and one probable death; Luce County, 216 confirmed cases and 251 probable, three confirmed death and one probable death; Alger County, 321 confirmed, 194 probable and two deaths, four probable; Schoolcraft County, 348 confirmed cases and 83 probable, four deaths and one probable; Ontonagon County, 415 confirmed, 59 probable and 20 deaths, one probable; Mackinac County, 453 confirmed cases and 251 probable, three deaths; Baraga County, 673 confirmed cases, 122 prodeaths; Iron County, 981 confirmed cases and 69 probable, 42 deaths and nine probable; Gogebic County, 1,038 confirmed cases and 362 probable, 22 deaths and 28 probable; Chippewa County, 1,075 confirmed cases and 1,391 probable, and 28 deaths, five probable; Menominee County, 1,786 confirmed cases, 325 probable and 40 deaths, two probable; Dickinson County, 2,394 confirmed cases and 335 probable, 59 deaths and 15 probable; Houghton County, 2,518 confirmed cases, 606 probable, 34 deaths and eight probable; Delta County, 3,334 confirmed cases and 686 probable, 74 deaths and 19 probable; and Marquette County, 4,243 confirmed cases, 817 probable and 60 deaths, one probable. State numbers are updated almost daily but can lag behind local reports or have other discrepancies.
