Escanaba City Hall closed

Escanaba’s City Hall has been temporarily closed to visitors until early April, City Manager Patrick Jordan announced in a press release Tuesday. The decision to close City Hall was made in response to the coronavirus pandemic.

Thursday’s Escanaba City Council meeting has also been canceled.

Currently, city hall is set to stay closed through at least April 5. City hall staff is still working to answer phones and accept payments at the drop box. Escanaba residents are asked to keep in-person interactions to a minimum and conduct business by other means.

“This situation is very fluid and this is not something any of us have ever experienced, so we thank you for your cooperation and understanding,” Jordan wrote in the press release.
