GLADSTONE — Though it is no longer owned by the man it was named after, Jerry’s Service Center is still operating and still continues to offer many different services to drivers in the area.

Jerry’s Service Center opened in the mid-1980s. Owner/Technician Jim Rian said he bought the service center from its previous owner, Jerry Robitaille, when Robitaille retired in November of 1991.

“He opened it … four (to) five years earlier,” Rian said. Previously, Rian had been working there as a technician.

According to Rian, business at the service center has been strong ever since.

“(It’s) always been busy,” he said.

A wide variety of services are offered at Jerry’s Service Center. These include general automotive repair, brake alignment, electronic diagnosis, engine repair, and transmission repair, among others.

“(It’s) everything as far as maintenance and repair,” Rian said. To provide these services, Rian works alongside the service center’s other employees — Technician Mark Delke, Lube Technician Trent Marenger, and Service Manager Bruce Demuse.

Rian said Jerry’s Service Center can provide services for drivers whether their vehicles were manufactured in the United States or not.

“We work on foreign cars, as well as domestic,” he said.

Jerry’s Service Center stands out from the crowd thanks to their honesty, high-quality work, and friendly treatment of customers, Rian said.

“I’ve always considered my customers more like friends than customers,” he said.

Rian, who has been a technician for about 40 years, said he plans to continue running Jerry’s Service Center for the foreseeable future.

“(I’ll) work as long as I can, and then (I’ll) have to see what happens after that,” he said.
