Seul Choix Pointe Lighthouse welcomes visitors

GULLIVER — The purpose of the Gulliver Historical Society/Seul Choix Pointe Lighthouse Museums is to provide educational opportunities that enhance the understanding of our area’s Maritime Heritage. Towards this goal, it must effectively restore and maintain the cultural landscape for the benefit of our Gulliver Community and the Public. (in the 2024 season we had 42,500 counted visitors in 4 months’ time)

The entire lighthouse complex has ongoing restoration projects. The interior/exterior camera security system has been completed. Newly plastered walls and paint were done in the parlor and the foyer. All donated work by High Standard Plaster Restoration and Drywall Co. The snowplow damaged Well Pit was completed with help from the DNR. A new outside camera has been mounted on the light tower to show Great Lakes Freighters coming into Port Inland in real time. It’s on our face book site daily. The leaking Lighthouse Roof will be done this year. Interior rain damage to newly plastered walls are showing up. The estimate is $100,000.00, on-going fund raising is going on.

All monies coming into the lighthouse complex such as memorials, donations, admission fees, and gift shop sales, go right back into paying bills, Restoration and Preservation efforts. We encourage you to come visit a working lighthouse that you have right here in your own backyard. Open Memorial Day, Friday, May 23 to the end of September 2025. (7 days a week 10:00 am-5:00pm.
