Escanaba Public Library plans Summer Reading Program events
ESCANABA — The Escanaba Public Library’s Children’s Summer Reading Program, “Oceans of Possibility,” will kick-off on Wednesday, June 8 at 4:30 p.m. with Joel Tacey and his Magical Comedy Show. Families are encouraged to come to the city council chambers and enjoy this highly acclaimed entertainer. The show will be followed by the Friends of the Escanaba Public Library’s annual Ice Cream Social and book sale on the north lawn of the library at 6 p.m., with entertainment by the Escanaba City Band.
Beginning on Tuesday, June 14 through July 19, Lunch with the Munch Bunch will meet on the Children’s Room patio at 11:30 a.m. Children should bring a sack lunch. After lunch, children will enjoy stories in the story room.
Adventures in Crafting with area artists will take place on Tuesday, June 28 and Tuesday, July 19. This hands-on program is for ages 7 and up and will feature creations related to the theme.
On Wednesday, August 3, Jamie Kozloski will present her “Exotic Animal Rescue” program at 3 p.m. This show is for all ages and will take place in the city council chambers.
The library is also offering a Teen Summer Reading Program for ages 13-17, with opportunities to win prizes including gift cards to Willow Creek Cinema 8, Sherlock & Key Escape Room, and Canterbury Bookstore. Teens can pick up their bingo cards and program information beginning on Wednesday, June 8.
