Running Effective Meetings class offered

IRON MOUNTAIN — Bay College West Campus and Northern Initiatives – MMTC are set to host a “Running an Effective Meetings” training on Thursday, Sept. 24, from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. CT. This “Running an Effective Meetings” course teaches students about planning, participating in, and concluding successful meetings. Students learn how to establish the purpose and agenda of a meeting, to keep the meeting on task, to foster creative thinking, and to manage conflict among meeting participants. Course activities also cover building a positive climate during a meeting and understanding verbal and nonverbal communication. There is a fee to take part and a minimum of six individuals must be met by September 10 in order to move forward with the training.

Cedric Calhoun of Eclipse Business Strategies will lead this training. Calhoun offers more than 20 years of association management experience and is the go-to expert for financial strategies around program growth and assessment, as well as providing consulting services ranging from credentialing and product management to organizational change and planning.
