McBroom headlines retirees luncheon
ESCANABA — Senator Ed McBroom will be the featured presenter at the fall meeting of the 906 Chapter of SERA (State Employee Retirees Association) This will be the first chapter meeting of the year (because of COVID 19 restrictions put in place in March) on Monday, September 14, 2020 at the Highlands Golf Club just west of Escanaba. The meeting will begin with a noon luncheon and will feature elections of three board members for the chapter, informational presentation by Blue Cross Blue Shield Retiree services manager Arva Overton and a presentation by SERA Statewide Chairperson Bob Kopasz.
All retired State of Michigan employees are welcome to attend the luncheon and meeting. There is a fee to attend. Those wishing to attend need to contact 906 SERA Membership Chair Edgar Sommers II at 906-250-5560.
906 SERA represents all State of Michigan retirees in matters of medical care, mental health care, dental and vision matters and in prescription medications. Those at the meeting will have the opportunity to have questions about these matters and the recently revised Michigan Automobile Insurance effects on retirees.
Members may bring friends and spouses to the meeting, but all must reserve seating with Edgar so that the required seating conventions can be observed.
Deadline for reservations is Labor Day, Sept. 7.
