Library opens for computer appointments

ESCANABA — The Escanaba Public Library will reopen to the public on an appointment-only basis for computer use and technical assistance on Monday, June 22. Library patrons may call to make a one hour appointment between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Access to the library’s physical collection will continue to be provided remotely with staff assistance, via the library’s drive-up window between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. Patrons may call to request items for pick up, or place holds through the library’s online catalog. Drive-up book drops are open for returning library items. Photocopy, scanning and fax services are also available via the drive-up window.

When visiting the library for an appointment, patrons are required to wear a face-covering. Masks will be provided for those without one. Plexi-glass shields have been installed at all public service desks and re-configured spaces with 6-foot markers are in place to enforce social distancing. Hand sanitizer is available for patron use. Computer stations and all high-touch surfaces will be disinfected between uses.

“We thank the public for their continued patience as we navigate a re-opening that is as safe and convenient as possible,” said Library Director Carolyn Stacey. Additional access to the library will tentatively open up on Monday, June 29. with drop-in visits and browsing permitted.
