Youth Advisory Committee awards grant funding

ESCANABA — The Youth Advisory Committee (YAC) of the Community Foundation for Delta County announces the recipients of their April 2020 grants round. The following organizations receiving grants are:

– Bay Cliff Health Camp – COVID-19 Response Fund

– Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Bay Area – Mentoring Program

– Delta County Animal Shelter – COVID19 Emergency Pet Food Bank

– Delta County College Access Network (DCCAN) – Post High School Planning Opportunities

– Delta County Regional Child Advocacy Center – equipment for on-site recording and management system

– Escanaba Library Lego Club – Education, Imagination, Sharing and Building

– Junior Market Livestock Committee – Junior Market Livestock Animal Scales for U. P. State Fairground

– Northern Lights-YMCA – Strong Kids Campaign

– Pregnancy Services of Delta County – COVID19 additional resources needed in Delta County

– United Way of Delta County – Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, providing free books each month to Delta County children

– Welcome Newborns Program – Child Abuse Prevention and Safe Sleep Project

“The foundation’s Youth Advisory Committee is made up of a bunch of very impressive young adults that want to help make a difference. They give-up of their time to made our community and its residents a better place to learn, play and live,” said Community Foundation for Delta County Executive Director Cheryl Andzejewski. “Two of the YAC committee members are active community foundation board members as well.”

Youth Advisory Committee Co-Chairs Azariah Hernandez and Allison Gustafson announced the fall 2020 grant round will open on Monday, Aug. 31, and all grant requests and requirements must be received by 4 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 1 in order to be considered.
