Knockabouts present Celtic concert

ESCANABA — The Friends of the Escanaba Public Library welcome The Knockabouts to the library on Thursday, March 12, at 6:30 p.m. for a special Celtic concert in celebration of St. Patricks’ Day.

The Knockabouts are a folk music trio from Marquette who play a wide variety of traditional, contemporary and original music based in Celtic traditions. The group features Barb Rhyneer, professor of music at Northern Michigan University and conductor of the University Orchestra on fiddle and vocals, Tim DeMarte, writer and Soo Bahk Do instructor on bohdran and vocals and Daniel Truckey, director of the Beaumier U.P. Heritage Center at NMU on guitar and vocals. All three musicians have decades of experience performing in everything from classical, jazz, rock and roll and traditional folk music.

This concert is made possible with the generous support of the Friends of the Escanaba Public Library. The event is free and open to the public and will be held in the library. No registration is required.

The Escanaba Public Library is located at 400 Ludington St. in the city hall/library in downtown Escanaba.
