Gladstone Public Safety has smoke alarms
GLADSTONE — After donations from local businesses and organizations, the Gladstone Public Safety Department now has free smoke alarms available for Gladstone residents.
According to Gladstone Public Safety, a member of the department recently began seeking donations as an initiative to provide smoke detectors to residents of Gladstone that may be in need of them.
Due to donations from Walmart, Meijer and the Gladstone Volunteer Fire Department, there are now several smoke alarms available for Gladstone residents.
The free smoke alarms can be picked up at Gladstone Public Safety.
The number of alarms given out to each individual will be determined by the number of bedrooms within the home, police said.
With the announcement of the new service, Gladstone Public Safety also wished to remind residents to inspect their existing alarms and batteries on a regular basis.
