More drug arrests made in Manistique

MANISTIQUE — A Manistique resident was arraigned on three drug related charges in Schoolcraft County District Court Wednesday.

Samantha Jo Troxler, 27, of Manistique, was arraigned on the following counts: one counts of controlled substance – delivery on school or library property (narcotics or cocaine) less than 50 grams, a two- to 40-year felony and a maximum fine of $75,000; one count of controlled substance – possession of meth/ecstasy, a 10-year felony with a maximum fine of $15,000; and one count of controlled substance – maintaining a drug house, a two-year high court misdemeanor and a maximum fine of $25,000.

Troxler was arrested and narcotics were seized Monday after Manistique Public Safety officers and the department’s K-9 unit continued an investigation into the use and trafficking of meth within the city of Manistique, according to the Manistique Public Safety Department.

Officers seized meth, other narcotics and arrested Troxler after serving a search warrant at 600 Cherry Street, Apartment B-3, in Manistique at 6:15 p.m. Monday. Troxler was subsequently lodged at the Schoolcraft County Jail.

The bond was set at $150,000 cash or surety.

The preliminary hearing for Troxler is set for Feb. 5 at 10 a.m.

Manistique Public Safety Department were assisted in the investigation by the Michigan Department of Child Protective Services, Schoolcraft County District Court Probation Department and the Michigan State Police.
