HARRIS — Readers of the Daily Press have pinned four blue ribbons on the Island Resort & Casino in their recently announced 2021 “Readers’ Choice Best of the Best Awards.” The Island was named: the best hotel/motel, the best golf course (Sweetgrass), the best banquet/reception hall and the best massage therapist.

“We’re very proud of our facility here at the Island Resort & Casino, and it’s gratifying to know that our customers are loving the total experience,” said Tony Mancilla, General Manager. “And that was before the new expansion was completed. We’ve made it even better.”

Mancilla was referring to the $30 million project that culminated on December 31, when Island opened their new 11-story hotel tower including high-end dining and convention space on the top floor and a pool with water park features. “We’ve definitely upped our game, and our game was pretty good to begin with,” Mancilla said. “Both of our golf courses–Sweetgrass and Sage Run–continue to get great reviews, and the Drift Spa is really something special–it’s great they were recognized.”
