Mroczkowski – Porter

ESCANABA – Sherry Mroczkowski became the bride of Joe Porter during a beach-setting ceremony in San Clemente, Calif., on May 14. The groom’s cousin, Pastor Gregory Beach, performed the ceremony in front of family and friends from both California and Michigan. The reception was held on the San Clemente Pier at The Fisherman’s Restaurant and Bar.

All four of the couple’s teenage children were attendants for them at the ceremony. Madalyn Martenson served as the maid of honor, while Jylian and Madilyn Porter were bridesmaids. The best man was Brian Gatiss, and Mason Martenson served as a groomsman.

After the wedding, the couple spent part of their honeymoon in Las Vegas, and the remainder in southern California.

Sherry is the daughter of Hank and Linda Mroczkowski of Bark River, and is employed by Garrett Eye Center in Escanaba and Iron Mountain.

Joe is the son of Sharon and Bill Gilbert of Gladstone, and the late Ron Porter. He recently retired from military service after 28 years, and is currently employed by Veterans Affairs at the Escanaba Veteran’s Center.

The couple and their children have settled happily together in Escanaba.
