Derouin – Vermullen

BARK RIVER – Brooke Derouin, daughter of Joe and Sandy Derouin of Bark River, Mich. and David Vermullen, son of Tom and Alice Vermullen of Wells, were united in marriage on May 23, in a 4 p.m. ceremony on Spider Lake in Traverse City, Mich. with a reception that followed.

The bride’s friend and the groom’s cousin, Brittany Good, served as Brooke’s maid of honor. Scott Vermullen, the groom’s brother, served as David’s best man. The bride’s brother, Bryce Derouin, ushered for the service, and Carys and Harper Vermullen, the groom’s nieces, were flower girls.

The couple also celebrated with family and friends in June at the Home Base Bar and Restaurant in Schaffer, Mich.

The bride, Brooke, is a graduate of Grand Valley State University with a master’s in corporate fitness and wellness. She is currently employed at 8th Day Gym.

David is a graduate of Central Michigan University with a master’s of arts in education. He is employed with Forest Hills Public Schools.

The couple honeymooned at Sleeping Bear Dunes and will reside in Grand Rapids, Mich.
