Daily Press photo
The following piece was published in the Daily Press on June 21, 1989.
Construction is underway on an addition to Pinecrest Medical Care Facility in Powers. The new wing will house 120 of 160 beds at the skilled nursing home, which serves residents of Delta, Menominee and Dickinson counties. Renovations, demolition and new construction were necessary to meet state standards. Voters of all three counties approved funding for the $6 million project in April 1987. Pinecrest was built in 1922 to serve as a tuberculosis sanatorium. Tentative completion date of the project is December 1990. Number of beds at the facility will not increase.
