The ship turned out to be the most popular attraction during Bay Summerfest ‘84, with 14,900 people touring the Edson. More people visited the ship while it was in Escanaba than the 10,300 people who toured it while it was in Detroit the same year. Janet West, of Escanaba, received special recognition during the ship’s Escanaba stay for being the 25,000th person to come aboard during the 1984 cruise.
