Memorial UMC to hold vacation Bible school

GLADSTONE — The Memorial United Methodist Church Vacation Bible School will be 6 to 8 p.m. on Aug. 1 through Aug. 4 for children from age 4 to 5th grade. The church is located at 1920 Lake Shore Dr., in Gladstone (near McDonald’s).

Call 428-9311 to pre-register. While pre-registration is not mandatory it does help with planning.

First UMC bake sale

ESCANABA — First United Methodist Church, located at 302 S. 6th St. in Escanaba, will be holding a bake sale in front of the church on Saturday, Aug. 6, from 10 am. to 2 p.m.

There will be pies, cookies, breads, and more, and all items will be pre-packaged for safe handling. Residents of Harbor Tower will get a special discount. Proceeds support mission areas. For more information, contact the church at 906-786-3713 or call Barb at 906-398-8373.

Garden walk scheduled

ESCANABA — “Gardens in Bloom,” the annual garden walk sponsored by Bay de Noc Gardeners and the Delta County Master Gardeners Association, is slated for Sunday, July 24 from 1 until 4 p.m. The walk is a self-guided tour of six private gardens, three in Gladstone and three in Escanaba.

Tickets are $10, and are available at Wickert’s, the Escanaba DDA, and Gust Asp Party Store in Escanaba and at Frame Farm in Gladstone. Proceeds will be used for Delta County beautification and horticultural education.

MENOMINEE — The Menominee County Dems will hold a zoom meeting on July 19 at 6 p.m. CST. The topic of discussion will be “Myths and Legends of Law” led by Judge Hupy.
