ESCANABA — Caren Crawford joined the Auxiliary in 2018. She has chaired the Corks & Kegs fundraiser for two years and has led the latest Elk’s apparel fundraiser, which will benefit the Auxiliary. Crawford enjoys helping with as many Elks and Elks Auxiliary events as she can.

Crawford was born and raised in Escanaba. She has lived here her entire life, outside of the years she attended college. She always knew she would make a life and a living in her hometown. She feels very fortunate to live so close to family and feels fortunate to be able to see them on a regular basis.

Crawford has been a funeral director since 2000 working with her father at Crawford Funeral Homes. She has followed in the footsteps of her parents, Jim and Mary Kay Crawford, who have been active members and supporters of the Elks Lodge for many years.

In her spare time, Crawford enjoys golfing, as she is involved in the Ladies League at the Escanaba Country Club. She loves spending time with friends and family and is often enjoying her parents’ pool in the summer months. She and her boyfriend, Steve, enjoy using their side-by-side, going on walks, and bike rides.

They love their time at the Elks Lodge. Walking into the Elks and seeing their “Elks Family” after a long workday is something Crawford always enjoys. So many memories have and continue to be made with everyone. They always have so much fun at the lodge.

Crawford’s favorite thing about being a member of the Auxiliary is the people. She enjoys the monthly meetings, visiting, having a nice dinner, and relaxing with some awesome ladies. To know the group is doing so much good for the lodge and the community while having fun is a bonus.
