Story hour Saturday

GLADSTONE — The Gladstone Public Library will hold a spring story hour Saturday, April 27 from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Children ages 2 to 10 will enjoy stories, create a special spring craft, eat snacks and sing songs.

Fundraiser at Amvets

ESCANABA — The Sons of Amvets are holding a fundraiser on Saturday, April 27, to help pay for the chair lift that was recently installed at the Amvets hall for disabled veterans.

The Grand Design Band, along with the band JD & Co., will be performing for you on from 7 p.m. to midnight. A $10 donation will be collected at the door. Doors open at 4 p.m.

Rapid River Kiwanis change meeting time

GLADSTONE — The Gladstone-Rapid River Kiwanis Club is changing their meeting time to 7 p.m. on Wednesdays. The change will be effective Wednesday, May 1.

The Club will continue to meet at the First Lutheran Church, 1212 Minneapolis Ave., in Gladstone, and welcomes anyone who would like to attend.

MARSP meeting May 9

MENOMINEE — The Menominee County Chapter of the Michigan Association of Retired School Personnel (MARSP) will meet on Thursday, May 9, at the Little Nugget Clubhouse on East County Rd. 338, Carbondale, Mich. Registration will be from 11:15 to 11:55 a.m. CDT, with the lunch served at noon. On the menu is a chicken dinner at a cost of $13.

The program will include a welcome back and a brief business meeting. MARSP Area Representative Don Johnson will give information about insurance and legislative issues. Clothes Closet sets ­special hours during sale

GLADSTONE — Free clothing of all sizes is available at the Memorial Methodist United Church in Gladstone. The clothes closet will have special hours during the church’s rummage sale. The hours are as follows: Thursday, May 2 from 2-7 p.m.; Friday, May 3 8:30 to 2 p.m.; Saturday, May 4 8:30 to 11 a.m.
