Delta County novel optioned for TV and film
LOS ANGELES — The rights for Delta County: A Novel, the second book published by J.L. Hyde, have been optioned for TV and film four months after its release.
Hyde, a native of Escanaba, published the suspense thriller in September as a follow up to her debut novel, Underground. Delta County takes place entirely in the Upper Peninsula and follows the story of Heather Matthews, who is returning to the area for her 10-year high school reunion after leaving the county following a tragedy years earlier. The novel currently has an impressive five-star rating on Amazon, with over one hundred reviews.
After earning a bachelor’s degree in public relations from Central Michigan University, Hyde worked in hospitality management for 15 years before pursuing a writing career.
The rights have been optioned by Jack Hirn of Pasadena, California, who is a Michigan native and executive producer of the award-winning film “Put Your Hand on the Line.”
Hyde currently resides in Oklahoma.
