Rapid River Relic Riders

RAPID RIVER — The Rapid River Relic Riders will meet on Wednesday, Nov. 6 at the clubhouse to discuss plans for the Rapid River Relics Snowmobile Show/Swap on Jan. 25, 2020 at the Rapid River Lions Club.

November DAR meeting

L’ANSE — The Onagomingkway Chapter of DAR, will hold its November meeting on Saturday, Nov. 9 from noon until 3 p.m. at the Historic Zeba Mission near L’Anse. Members are asked to dress warm and bring a lunch. For questions, call Melissa at 906-226-7836.

GFWC early bird drawing

ESCANABA — Members of the GFWC Escanaba Woman’s Club are collecting the tickets purchased for the 69th Annual Charity Ball to be held on Dec. 7 at the Terrace Bay Hotel. This year, individuals who purchase their tickets by 5 p.m. on Nov. 1 will be placed in an Early Bird drawing for $500 sponsored by Skerbeck Family Entertainment.

Tickets can be purchased at The Morrison Shop, Lisa Ann, Gust Asp, Trotter’s Floral or from any GFWC member.

Ice cream social Nov. 10

ROCK — The Rock American Legion and Ladies Auxiliary will be hosting an ice cream social and open house on Nov. 10 from 1 to 3 p.m.

The event is to mark the 100th anniversary of the founding of the American Legion and Ladies Auxiliary in 1919 after World War One. It will feature an ice cream sundae bar, informational tables about the work that both clubs do, 50/50 raffles and door prizes.

The public is welcome to join in the celebration.

Christmas Bazaar set

TRENARY — The Trenary United Methodist Church will be hosting its Annual Christmas Bazaar on Nov. 16 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the church. There will be handmade items, Rada utensils, and baked goods. Lunch will be served.

Dance in Rock Nov. 10

ROCK — A dance will be held at the Rock Community/Senior Center, located at 3892 W. Mapleridge Rd, on Sunday, Nov. 10 from 1 to 5 p.m. Live music will be performed by Old Friends.

There is a cost to attend and a free-will donation lunch will be available. For more information, call Alice at 356-6588. All proceeds benefit the Senior Corporation.

Purple Heart 1976 to hold meeting Thursday

ESCANABA — The Military Order of the Purple Heart (MOPH) Chapter 1976 will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 31, at the clubhouse building, 1202 Sheridan Road. The MOPH is for all military veterans who sustained combat wounds during their service to the country.

DAV to gather Nov. 4

ESCANABA — The next scheduled meeting for the DAV Chapter 24 will be held on Monday, Nov. 4 at 7 p.m. at the Military Order of the Purple Heart building, located at 1202 Sheridan Road, Escanaba.

All disabled veterans are welcome.

American Legion to meet

RAPID RIVER — The Rapid River American Legion meets the first Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. The next meeting is Nov. 5.

Democratic Party to hold meeting Nov. 6

ESCANABA — The Delta County Democratic Party will hold its monthly meeting on the first Wednesday of the month at USW Union Hall, 1201 Sheridan Rd., Escanaba. Social is at 6:30 p.m., with the meeting to follow at 7 p.m.

Mill retirees to meet

ESCANABA — The Mill Retirees group will meet on Wednesday, Nov. 6 at the Union Hall on Sheridan Road at 10 a.m. Refreshments will be provided and there will be a 50/50 drawing.

All mill retirees are invited to attend. The group meets the first Wednesday of every month.
