Wells Lions 52 Club Raffle ­winners named

WELLS — The Wells Lions 52 Club Raffle winners for the week of Sept. 23 are Linda Morin and Jill Johnsen of Escanaba, who won $100. This was week 8 of the raffle.

Legion, auxiliary to meet

FLATROCK — The monthly meeting of Escanaba River American Legion Post 115 and the auxiliary will be held at the Escanaba Township Hall at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 2. Voting on the new constitution and bylaws will take place.

Reflections of Grace coming to Blessed Hope

ESCANABA — Reflections of Grace Ministries will be at blessed Hope Baptist Church Sunday, Oct. 6 at 6 p.m. Clare and Janice Bishop and daughter Alyssa Jones and her husband Greg will be presenting an evening of music and message from scripture. From Lower Michigan, the Bishop family travels to small churches throughout Michigan encouraging pastors and people, believing the backbone of Christianity in America is small churches.

Blessed Hope Baptist Church is located at 2530 14th Avenue South in Escanaba.

Escanaba Eagles to hold breakfast Sept. 29

ESCANABA — The Escanaba Eagles 1088 will serve their fifth breakfast Sunday, Sept. 29 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Eagles Hall, located at 608 Ludington St. in Escanaba.

The public is welcome to attend. There is a fee to attend the breakfast. For more information call the Escanaba Eagles Club at 786-3451.

Veterans service officer sets office hours

HERMANSVILLE, Mich. — Mike Dellisse, Menominee County Veterans Service Officer, will be holding office hours on Wednesday, Oct. 2 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Floriano-Stecker-Kelly American Legion Hall in Hermansville.

Veterans or widows that need assistance with the Veterans Administration, claims with the Administration, Agent Orange, headstones, gravemarkers, or information on the Oscan Johnson Veterans Administration Medical Center in Iron Mountain should see Dellisse on visit to Hermansville.

If you have any questions on the Michigan Veterans Trust Fund for Menominee County Dellisse can help.

You need not belong to any service organization to see Dellisse. His services are free.

Tri-County MEA-Retired Group to meet Oct. 8

ESCANABA — U. P. Tri-County MEA-Retired Group meeting will be held Tuesday, Oct. 8 at 10 a.m. EDT (9 a.m. CDT) at Great Lakes First Federal Credit Union, 2110 3rd Avenue North, Escanaba in the training room. Members are asked to park in the back of the parking lot so the customers can have the front parking spaces.

Jessica Lumbreras, MEA political action organizer will be our guest speaker. Any interested retired or current MEA members can attend.

ESCANABA — The Escanaba Area High School Class of 1970 will hold a reunion meeting at Breezy Point Bar Oct. 8 starting at 5 p.m. All classmates are welcome to attend.

St. Anthony’s Church to hold final pasty sale

ESCANABA — St. Anthony’s Church will be having their last pasty sale of the year on Oct. 10 from 2 to 5 p.m. and Oct. 11 from noon to 4 p.m., while supplies last. Pick up is at St. Thomas Church in Escanaba. Pasties may be pre-ordered by calling or texting Debbie at 399-4259.
