Title VI Indian Ed Parent Committee to meet

East Ludington Gallery lecture series continues

ESCANABA — The East Ludington Gallery, located at 1007 Ludington St. in Escanaba, holds a lecture on the third Thursday of every month, except December.

This month’s lecture features Sandy Wilson, who will discuss creating beautiful, one-of-a-kind jewelry. The lecture will take place from 7 to 8 p.m.

Pancake breakfast planned for Sept. 29

HERMANSVILLE — The Hermansville American Legion Post 340 will be having a pancake breakfast Sunday, Sept. 29 from 8 to 11 a.m. Proceeds will benefit Legion projects.

Alano 36th anniversary ­celebration event

GLADSTONE — The 36th anniversary celebration of the Delta Alano Club will be Sunday, Sept. 29. The day’s activities begin at 3:36 p.m. with the annual meeting. Guest speaker will be Cory L. A potluck supper will follow the talk. Friends of Dr. Bob and Bill W. are encouraged to attend.

Holy Name Class of 1970 planning meeting

WELLS — The Holy Name High School class of 1970 will have a second reunion planning luncheon on Wednesday, Sept. 25, 11 a.m. EST, at the Family Inn restaurant in Wells. All classmates are welcome to attend. Call 906-553-1300 by Sept. 21 to make a reservation.

Life Chain event Oct. 6

ESCANABA — A Prayerful Life Chain, part of a nationwide pro-life prayer event, will take place Sunday, Oct. 6, from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Participants will stand along Lincoln Road to pray.

Date for Honoree Dinner

GARDEN — A new date has been chosen for the Honoree Dinner, sponsored by the Garden Peninsula Historical Society. The dinner will be Sept. 22 at the Garden Community Center. The event will begin at noon with the buffet dinner to follow at 12:30 p.m. Honorees are asked to be there at 11:30 a.m. for pictures.

Following dinner, honoree biographies will be read and certificates will be presented. Attendees are asked to bring a dish to pass. The Historical Society will provide tableware.

Blacksmithing talk

HERMANSVILLE — Rob Hornik of Liberty Forge will be giving a blacksmithing presentation at the IXL Historical Museum in Hermansville on Sunday, Sept. 22. The presentation will begin at 1:30 p.m. CDT.

Hornik will share the history of blacksmithing, show and describe the use of the trade’s tools, provide demonstrations, and answer questions. Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs. Donuts and spiced tea will be available for purchase during the presentation. The museum is located at W5561 River Street in Hermansville.
