Pinecrest celebrates Easter with children
POWERS — The residents at Pinecrest had 77 kindergarten through second grade visitors from North Central Elementary and two local day cares. The children came to Pinecrest for an Easter egg hunt Wednesday, April 17. When the children came into the multipurpose room at Pinecrest, they got to see and hug the Easter Bunny. The hallways, living rooms, dining rooms, and two greenhouses were filled with around 4,000 eggs that the staff from many departments helped to distribute. Some of the residents held onto the eggs and then gave them to the children as they went by the nurses’ stations.
It didn’t take long for the children to gather all the eggs and come to the multipurpose room to open the plastic eggs to find the treats inside. The kids also had cookies and refreshments in the multipurpose room before leaving Pinecrest.
Pinecrest would like to thank the Key Club from North Central High School and residents for filling the eggs, as wells as family members of residents and people in the community for the donations that were received.
The event was a great success and the residents had so much fun seeing the excitement in the children’s faces. Pinecrest is already looking forward to having this event again next year.
