U.P. Honor Flight to host motorcycle ride
POWERS — The Upper Peninsula Honor Flight will be hosting a Summer Fun Ride for motorcycle riders on Saturday, July 14. The ride departs from TJ’s Sports Bar in Powers at noon CST.
Money raised from the ride benefits the Honor Flight, which takes U.P. veterans on an all-expense paid trip to Washington, D.C. to see the monuments built in their honor.
In addition to the ride, there will be food, silent auctions, and 50/50 raffles. Music will be provided by Kamikaze Blitz beginning at 8 p.m.

Kennel Club to meet Thursday in Escanaba
ESCANABA — The Bay de Noc Kennel Club will hold its next general meeting on Thursday, June 14 at 7 p.m. at the Kennel Club building at 6687 N.75 Dr. in Escanaba (just north of the Wells Sports Complex, next to the baseball field). The public is welcome to attend.

Sons of the American Legion plans meeting
GLADSTONE — The next meeting for the Gladstone Sons of the American Legion Squadron 71 is Thursday, June 14 at 7:30 p.m. The meeting will be held at the Gladstone American Legion, located at 802 Delta Ave.

Escanaba AAUW set summer event schedule
ESCANABA — The Escanaba Area Branch of AAUW (American Association of University Women) has set its summer schedule for June, July and August.
On July 22, they will attend the Garden Walk from 1 to 4 p.m., followed by a deli potluck at the home of Kathleen Bennett.
Aug. 14 will feature two area artists, Carol Irving and April South Olson, sharing their talents and creations with the group. This event begins at 6 p.m.
AAUW is open to men and women holding an associates degree or higher. Its mission is to promote gender equity through education, research, diversity and action. Escanaba and St. Joseph all-class reunion
ESCANABA — Members of the Escanaba and St. Joseph class of 1953 will gather for an informal reunion on Aug. 6. Save the date. The location has yet to be determined, and more information will be forthcoming. Please notify classmates by mail, phone or e-mail of the date and plan to attend.
Community grief group meets June 20 in Esky
ESCANABA — As an extension of their community grief groups, OSF Hospice will host a monthly luncheon for bereaved people to gather for informal conversation and support on the third Wednesday of the month throughout 2018. The next meeting will take place on June 20 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. (EST) at Drifter’s Family Restaurant in Escanaba.
Sit-n-fit exercise class
ESCANABA — Fitness chair exercises to improve strength, stretching, balance, flexibility and muscle will be held every Monday and Friday at 11 a.m. at the Escanaba Senior Center. Sign in at the office. The event is free.
