Gralls celebrate 50th anniversary

ESCANABA — On Nov. 4, Dennis and Sally Grall of Escanaba celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a blessing after 4:30 Mass at St. Anne’s Church.

A small reception was then held at the historic House of Ludington.

The couple was married Nov. 4, 1967, at St. Joseph’s Church in Marinette, Wis with a reception held at The Dome in Marinette.

They are both 1964 graduates of Marinette Catholic Central High School.

Dennis is the retired sports editor of The Daily Press and Sally is retired from St. Anne’s Church as a bookkeeper, after spending 30 years in banking.

The couple enjoys traveling and have visited all 50 states, with Denny playing golf in each state and also attending a baseball game at a ball park of every MLB franchise.

Denny is proud to have served with the U.S. Marine Corps in Vietnam, where he was wounded twice that required him to walk down the wedding aisle on crutches.

He is a member of USMC Detachment 444 and Military Order of the Purple Heart Chapter 1976. Sally is in the Marine Corps Auxiliary. She just completed crocheting 80 hats for the USMC Toys For Tots program.

Denny also serves as a DAV volunteer driver for veterans to Iron Mountain Veterans Administration hospital, is a volunteer member of the Delta County Veteran’s Council military veteran’s funeral honor guard and is a lector at St. Anne’s Church.

They are proud parents of a son, Brian, in Plover, Wis. Brian and Debbie are parents of Denny and Sally’s only grandchildren, Emma and Chloe.
