County board meeting

EDITOR: I attended the Board of Commissioners meeting on Tuesday, February 21, and was both appalled and embarrassed at what I witnessed. All citizens of Delta County need to see for themselves the inept and rude behavior exhibited by some of our elected officials. The ineptness is largely the inability to run a meeting using proper protocols and procedures. Examples from Tuesday’s meeting include improperly allowing the chair to make a motion, voting on an issue before having discussion, and calling for back-to-back votes without individual motions. EDITOR: City crews, we moved to a “new”office in December. When we moved in, I realized that there was no recyclable bin. So, I simply looked up the correct number and informed them. That same day, or by the next morning, a bin was delivered. Now I know half a dozen people that their first reaction would be to start complaining. County board meeting

EDITOR: The February 7, 2023 Delta County Board meeting was a demonstration of how much our society needs to step back to where we treat others with respect in spite of differences of opinion. The meeting showed us moving toward a belief in mob rule and away from the democratic process. We may vehemently disagree but disrupting the process of government isn’t the way to make your opinion known.
