So disappointing

EDITOR: He said, she said. He lied, no, she did. What a fabrication, no, a white lie. A conspiracy perhaps? Evil character assassination methinks. Trickery, skullduggery, rumors, nepotism, behind the back chicanery. (Utter foolishness!) Firearms and polling places

EDITOR: Society accepts rules and regulations in anticipation of a peaceful existence. Violations of these rules/regulations may result in disciplinary measures. Discipline, misunderstood by most, is not designed to punish, but to correct behavior. Unacceptable behavior should be clearly denoted and consequences as clearly understood. Delta County Code of Ethics

EDITOR : The Delta County Employee Handbook (which pertains to all those hired and elected) has an attachment titled “Code of Ethics Delta County Government”. This attachment contains roughly 3,306 words. A meta-analysis from 2019 found that English-speaking adults, on average, read 238 words per minute when reading silently (Brysbaert, 2019). Based on that study, it should take almost 14 minutes to read through the county’s code of ethics. EDITOR: “Stupid is as stupid does” (Forrest Gump-1994) This quote seems to aptly describe the Escanaba City Council along with the Delta County Board of Commissioners. City council: It’s not enough that we’re known as the drug capital of the U.P. and “Methanaba” and now you have added marijuana to the mix. All in the name of money. The city council is supposed to be protecting its’ constituents and our fair city. You certainly have a strange way of accepting that responsibility. EDITOR: A pair of letters to the Editor on 2/23/23 showed an interesting contrast to problem solving. Perhaps lessons can be learned in how to confront problems either real or interpreted. Mr. Tom Grant of Escanaba had a maturely considered approach to dealing with the inevitability of U.P. weather. He recognized that snowplows and their drivers have but one task… move the snow out of the way so traffic can continue safely after a major snowfall.
