Code enforcement
EDITOR: Some time ago, the Daily Press had a story about code enforcement. There seems to be a lot of emphasis on grass/lawns. I believe there should be some hard-core enforcement of other things. Example is a house which needs a visit from the TV show “Hoarders.” At least, a health department inspection. There are several houses like that, that I see on a daily basis. EDITOR: After 16 months of being verbally harassed, by Kelly VanGinhoven and her supporters, I want to point out something. As many know, the recall was launched, maintained, and executed on political lines. Myself and two other commissioners were accused at every meeting of a lack of transparency, or ethics violations. In some cases even illegal activity. However nothing was brought to the police, or the prosecutors desk. EDITOR: Very recently I thought I’d misplaced my checkbook. I looked in all the usual places in the house and car, but didn’t find it. I wasn’t too concerned. I lose track of things occasionally, but always seem to find them when I least expect to. The next day I checked the mailbox. There was no mail, but my checkbook was inside, intact. EDITOR: Political season has begun. The first presidential debate has taken place and each parties convention will commence in the months of July (Republican) and August (Democrat). Candidates from both parties will be officially nominated and then the onslaught of political ads will make us wish November 5th cannot come fast enough. EDITOR: Reading Michael Glass’s butt-kicking letter of July 10th reminded me of a piece I read several years ago, about a political consultancy operating in the state of Georgia. This three man operation billed itself as the go-to outfit for Republicans running for office in the state. According to the article, all three are registered Democrats with a history of donations to Democrat causes and campaigns.
