Lead line mess

EDITOR: Well Escanaba, we’re getting new state mandated water pipes pushed into our homes. That’s the good news. Even though it’s reported that we have less lead in our drinking water then ever before, the pipes are being replaced at city’s expense, that’s part of the bad news. The rest of the bad news is how our streets, curbs, avenues, and sidewalks look after the work is done. In order to replace the lines, some curbs and huge chunks of sidewalk are being removed. EDITOR: As the national election is a huge topic of discussion I hope as you fill out your ballot you will give our local elections attention also. Myra Croasdell is a candidate in District 3 and running as an independent candidate which means that if you want to cast your ballot for her you must specify this on your ballot and check off her name as she has no party affiliation. EDITOR: Most voters have already made up their minds about which candidates they will vote for in the coming election, and the outcome of the election, we are often told, depends on the last minute decisions of the undecided among us.  Considering that point of view, many of the undecideds likely made up their minds recently after viewing the vice presidential debate, where JD Vance won the evening with his calm demeanor and his unfailing politeness to his opponent. The uncommitted voter

EDITOR: It seems prudent that a “last call” be made to the uncommitted voter. If the independent voter is really going to decide the 2024 election, it is best they are armed with the truth. Interestingly, I have heard from the pulpit of both Catholic and Protestant clergy, “deliver the truth, whatever the cost.” To this statement, one can only say, Amen! With this in mind, ask yourself, “are you living the best version of yourself” or are you settling for something less? Be honest, do you obey your conscience or do you fall prey to peer pressure?
