ESCANABA — Enjoy a morning of birding with the Michigan Department of Natural Resources and Audubon Great Lakes for the Portage Marsh Wildlife Management Area Birding Event. The event will be held this Saturday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. No RSVP is required. Attendees can hike the DNR's one-mile loop trail, which includes 0.6 miles of unpaved trails along a historic dike system in Portage Marsh and a 0.4-mile beach walk along Lake Michigan.
