Modeltowners defeat Eskymos in non-conference action
ESCANABA — It was a tough night on the court for Escanaba girls basketball as they fell 50-28 to Gwinn in non-conference action here Monday night.
Makayla Dalmont led the way for the Modeltowners with 21 points and Daena Demars added nine points in the victory.
Gwinn raced out to a 13-0 lead after one quarter of play and extended that lead to 25-7 at the half.
Escanaba was led in scoring by Aubrey Mylander with 11 points and Landry Bray added nine.
Escanaba had one of those shooting nights you want to forget as they didn’t get their first field goal until the third quarter but went 7 of 7 from the free throw line in the first half.
The Eskymos return to action Friday as they travel to Calumet and Gwinn returns to action tonight as they travel to Menominee.
