Jasenovsky wins back-to-back Defensive Player of the Week honors
ESCANABA, MI – Jade Jasenovsky has been awarded the MCCAA Northern Conference Defensive Player of the Week for the second consecutive week.
The Norse earned a split on the week. On Monday they dropped a match in four sets to the North Central Michigan Timberwolves on the road. Jasenovsky (SO, Menominee, MI) had 16 digs in the contest.
The Norse bounced back on Wednesday with the help of their sophomore Libero. Jasenovsky picked up 33 digs and was one of 26 receiving against Delta College, helping lead the Norse to a 3-1 victory.
For the week Jasenovsky had 49 digs, which averaged out to 6.1 digs per set. She had a 89.1 receiving percentage.
The Norse are on the road this weekend, taking on the top two teams in Northern Conference play. On Friday evening they will be at Muskegon Community College. On Saturday afternoon they are scheduled to take on Grand Rapids Community College. They will finish their regular season schedule at home on Wednesday, October 29 as they host Alpena Community College. That final home match will be their annual Pinkout Game as the Norse continue to help fight cancer.
