Bower signs with Bay for volleyball, softball

Adam Hinch Daily Press Bark River-Harris senior Nina Bower signs her letter of intent with Bay College on May 3, 2024 at Bark River-Harris High School.

HARRIS — It was not just an ordinary day for Christina Bower as she signed her letter of intent to Bay College on Friday.

Bower will attend classes in the fall of this year and will play volleyball and softball for the Norse. “I really like the coaches at Bay,” Bower said. “It’s close to home and my family can come watch me play and that is important to me.”

Bower will study elementary education at Bay. “I enjoy working with kids and seeing how teachers interact with them really got me interested in this field.” Bower is currently in the elementary mentoring program at Bark River-Harris. “She loves to teach people,” volleyball coach Emily Soper said. “She loves to be around people and giving them wisdom which as a teacher myself I appreciate.”

Bower is a great athlete and teammate. “She puts in all the time and hard work,” Soper said. “She is always there to help fellow teammates and is everything you want an athlete to be.

Bower was a three sport athlete playing volleyball, basketball and softball for the Broncos. “We are exited to have be apart of the Bay College volleyball program,” Coach Dan Porath said. “She will add some depth in places where we need it, especially with setting position.”
