The finale was tied at 10 before the Broncos got a sideout and gained a 14-10 lead on a hitting miscue by Westwood.

“The girls battled for sure,” said Westwood coach Tammy Johnson. “They had a couple long service runs, and a couple times, we got sloppy. We’re coming around. We’ve been close with just about every team. Only, we have to work on playing a little smarter. There’s always room for improvement. They’re a great group of girls. It’s great to have this opportunity to work with them.”

The Patriots were within 19-18 following a Broncos’ hitting error in the second set.

Back-to-back kills by Red Bear followed by back-to-back aces by Arndt enabled the Broncos to gain a 23-18 advantage.

Arndt and Hoffmeyer were BR-H’s serving leaders with five aces apiece.

“This was a solid win,” said Ives. “In game one, we did okay. We changed our rotation a little in Game 2, but the energy wasn’t there. Although, we picked it up a little in Game 3.
