Jets earn twin bill win
CRYSTAL FALLS — The North Central baseball team swept Forest Park in its first home game ever Friday.
The Jets finished the opener 18-10 and the nightcap 12-1.
North Central’s offense was on a roll throughout the doubleheader, with the Jets scoring in each inning in both games.
The nightcap ended after five innings.
Luke Gorzinski took the win for the Jets over two two-thirds innings, striking out six and allowing one unearned run. Adrian Mercier pitched the remainder in relief and struck out six.
Alex Naser picked up three hits, Bradey Anderson and Jesse Sampson finished with two, and Naser, Mercier, Andrew Webber and Sampson collected two RBIs apiece.
In the opener, the Jets fell behind early after a two-run homer from Forest Park in the first.
Gorzinski evened it up for the Jets in the second, and it ignited their bats as North Central jumped up 12-9 by the sixth inning.
The Jets added six more to seal the game.
North Central’s Connor Florenski struck out eight in relief for the win.
Mercier, Webber and Anderson notched three hits apiece, and the Jets combined for nine RBIs.
The Jets visit Bark River-Harris Thursday.
