Bark River rolls past North Central in straight sets
HARRIS — Aspen Frederick served for a school-record 18 aces, helping the Bark River-Harris Broncos post a 3-0 (25-6, 25-6, 25-8) volleyball victory over the North Central Jets.
Alaska Peterson added six aces and 19 assists. Cara Zawacki also had six aces, and Carley Varoni collected nine kills.
“We had a really great serving night overall that led to the win,” said BR-H coach Jennifer Ives. “Our goal coming into the match was to play a strong and aggressive offensive game so our opponent would have to play defense, and that started with our serving. We really wanted to work on keeping our tempo up and communicating well, which is something we’ve been working on in practices, and I feel like we accomplished that goal.”
The Broncos travel to Westwood Monday. The Jets visit Superior Central Tuesday.
