Terrace Bluff men
GLADSTONE — Each shooting 136, Joe Versailles and John Nevala led the Wednesday Night Men’s League at the Terrace Bluff Golf Course in Gladstone.
At 37 were Jason Lippens and Rick Steele, at 38 Stephen Nolde, Dan Derouin and Tyler Deputy and at 39 Bob Prins and Trent Stupak.
ECC women
ESCANABA — Laura Clifford led the Escanaba Country Club this week with a score of 37.
Ann Marie Porath and Abbey Strom followed at 42.
Jessica Bray and Meg Casey each had 43, Paula Gustafson 44, Wendy Bratonia 45, Connie Kangas and Rose Fisher 46 and Sharon Nelson, Shendell Legault and Jenna Skradski 48 to round out the under 50 scores.
GGC ladies
GLADSTONE — Tuesday night’s Ladies League at the Gladstone Golf Club was led by Lori Shea who shot 41.
Marsha Skellenger 45, Mary Kalio and Wendy Bratonia at 46, Holly Canully 47 and Judy Cappeart and Morgan Whitehead at 48.

ESCANABA — The Sr. League meets Friday mornings at 9am.
Last week Jim Bugay, Lee Robitaille and Ralph Peterson shot 37 and were tied by Bob Bink, Tony Maturi, and Ray Frenette.

open registration
ESCANABA — Registration is now open for the 74th Annual Michigan-Wisconsin Tennis Open which will take place on area tennis courts August 7 and 8.
Entry forms for singles (20 dollars) or doubles (24 dollars per team) can be found online at www.escanaba.org or at the Escanaba Civic Center.
Entry forms must be mailed to the Escanaba Recreation Department, P.O. box 948, Escanaba MI, 49829. Checks must be made payable to Esky Tennis.

Highland 3-Woman
Golf Tourney
HYDE — The Highland Golf Club has announced that registration is open for their three-woman scramble on Wednesday, July 14th.
Entry fee is $195 per team and includes lunch, prizes and three mulligans. Skins will be available for $15 per team, and carts are available for $30.
The scramble will begin with a shotgun start at 11:00 a.m. EDT.
Golfers can call the club at 906-466-2791 to register and reserve their spot with a credit card. Registration forms are also available on the Highland website at www.highlandgolfclub.net under the “Events” tab.
Payment is due with registration, and the deadline for signing up is July 12th.

Groleau memorial
scholarship will be
awarded today
GLADSTONE — The Gladstone Indians Baseball Program announced that the first Annual Gladstone American Legion Christian Groleau Memorial Baseball Scholarship will be awarded to a 2021 graduating senior today at 6:30 p.m. during the Gladstone Senior Indians, Menominee Red Wave game at Don Olsen Field in Gladstone.
The $500 scholarship winner will be selected based upon the following criteria: a true leader on and of the field, demonstrating outstanding sportsmanship, is hugly motivated and helps motivate and inspire other team players.
The recipient also must have played for the Indians during the 2020 season as well as be currently playing in the 2021 season.
Jim and Char Groleau, Christian’s parents, will present the scholarship.
Christian played for the Senior Indians on the 2014 championship winning team.
A tree dedication in memory of Christian will also take place during the evening.
