Esky softball awarded slew of season honors
ESCANABA — The Escanaba Eskymos softball team earned numerous individual honors along with a team award to cap off its season this week.
The team finished the year with the highest GPA (3.93) in Division 2 Softball, earning the Eskymos Academic All-State.
Seniors McKenna Bullen and Nicole Kamin also earned individual All-State Academic honors.
Six Eskymos — Emily Moore (pitcher), Carney Salo (catcher), McKenna Bullen (outfield), Paxton Bullen (second base), Carsyn Segorski (shortstop) and Kamin (utility) — made the All-District Team.
McKenna Bullen, Paxton Bullen and Segorski also earned a spot on the All-Regional Team.
Segorski also received an All-State honorable mention.
The Eskymos also handed out their team awards Tuesday night.
Segorski was named Offensive Player of the Year while Salo was named Defensive Player of the Year.
Kamin was awarded the Little I award.
Anna Boutilier was selected as the team’s Rookie of the Year.
