Individual Esky bowlers move on, cheer earns title, wrestlers place 7

Boys

GAYLORD — The Escanaba boys bowling team just missed the cut with a third-place finish in the 2021 Boys Team Bowling Regionals in Gaylord Friday, but both Hunter Lancour and Troy Delvaux earned the opportunity to move on individually.

The Eskymos finished with a four-game high of 3,440 and were led by Bay City John Glenn (3,658) and Flint Kearsley (3,630).

Individually, Lancour notched a bronze finish with a four-game total of 793, and Delvaux just made the cut in 10th place (727).

Girls

GAYLORD — The Escanaba girls bowling team earned itself a fourth-place finish in the 2021 Girls Team Bowling Regionals in Gaylord Friday, and Mara Liss earned a way forward individually.

The Eskymos collected a four-game total of 2,643 and trailed behind Flint Kearsley (3,453), Bay City Western ( 2,743) and Owosso (2,732).

On the individual side, freshman Liss landed herself in seventh place with a 654 four-game total and also the opportunity to head to the singles state finals.

Wrestling

BAY CITY — The Escanaba wrestling team traveled to Bay City for the 2021 Individual Wrestling Districts Saturday, and the Eskymos came out the other side with seven places.

Brodey Bevins, wrestling at 152, was the only Eskymos to earn a first-place finish.

Collin Arnt (135) and Kahler Geyer (171) both collected a silver medal, and Eli Gardner (103) notched a bronze finish.

Adam Reimer (130), Jarret Olsen (215) and Nick Carlson (285) all finished in fourth.

Competitive cheer

ALMA — The Escanaba competitive cheer team earned a district title Saturday in Alma.
