Knights defeat Jets in district action
NORWAY — The North Central Jets found themselves on the wrong side of the scoreboard here Friday as they fell 14-4 to the Norway Knights.
North Central senior Brady Trudgeon hit a sacrifice fly in the top of the first to put the Jets up 1-0.
Norway tied the game in the bottom of the first on an error by the Jets.
The Knights took control of the game in the second inning as they scored six runs on five hits highlighted by a home run to left field by Cameron Varda that scored two and the Knights led 7-1 after two innings of play.
The Knights dropped another six spot on the Jets in the third as Varda hit a two-run double and Maddux Burklund doubled to score a run and the Knights led 13-1.
Norway freshman Hunter Langin earned the win for the Knights allowing four runs on four hits with two strikeouts and two walks in 3 â…” innings of work.
Senior Kaden Malone got the start for the Jets and allowed eight runs on five hits with two strikeouts and four walks.
