Carney’s Koffman earns SCC POTY
ESCANABA — Senior Beau Koffman of Carney-Nadeau topped the 2020-21 Skyline Central Boys Basketball All-Conference team with the Player of the Year award, and Bark River-Harris head coach Marc Zawacki came away with the Coach of the Year title.
On the first team, North Central sophomore Luke Gorzinki made the cut along with the Broncos senior Trenton Wood-Keshick.
Joining them were Logan Parolini of Norway, Kane Nebel and Jesse Duran of Munising, Keall Emmers of Forest Park and Bryce Kuehnew of Stephenson.
Bark River seniors Nick Javurek and Carter Zawacki earned spots on the second team along with Superior Central seniors Kyle Frusti and Parker Maki, Rapid River senior Mason Kudlick and Jets senior Ian Gorzinski.
Sam Brown of Munising and Maximus Mattson of North Dickinson joined them on second team.
Receiving honorable mentions were junior Bradey Anderson of North Central, Carney seniors Mike Flanagan and Tim Hodson, Rapid River junior Rease Dawley and senior Max Lenaker, Gavin Johnson of Forest Park and James Coldren of Stephenson.
Defensive Player of the Year was awarded to Jeffrey VanHolla of Norway.
Making the All-Defensive Team was Bark River seniors Joey Stein and Javurek, Ian Gorzinksi, Hodson, Rapid River senior Griffin Flath, Gavin Johnson of Forest Park, Brennan Donaldson of North Dickinson and Canaan Elson of Stephenson.
Trent Cappaert of Stephenson earned the Individual Sportsmanship Award and North Dickinson the Team Sportsmanship Award.
Munising’s Sam Brown earned the Free Throw Award.
