“We can’t make the slow starts a habit,” Eskymos coach Scott Hanson said. “We have to be able to find a way to get the bat on the ball and get some runs early in the game.”
Lennox Peacock picked up the win for the Eskymos allowing zero runs on five hits with five strikeouts and zero walks.
“This team knows how good we are and that’s kind of what we expect coming into games,” Peacock said. “We stack up our schedule to face a lot of good pitching not to say there isn’t good pitching in the U.P. it just doesn’t quite meet the standard that we go and play.”
Jonah Doenier earned the loss for the Flivvers allowing five runs on four hits with two strikeouts and three walks.
The Flivvers walked a total of eight batters and put three more in base by hitting the batter.
The Eskymos return to action after hosting a doubleheader last night against Neagunee will face The Marquette Sentinels on Monday at Al Ness Field.
