Braves fall at Iron Mtn.
IRON MOUNTAIN — The Gladstone volleyball team was just on the edge in Iron Mountain Thursday, but the Mountaineers were able to capitalize on Braves’ mistakes and earn a 3-0 (25-23, 25-17, 25-23) non-conference victory.
The first and third set were the downfall for the Braves (4-5) as they fell just out of reach.
“I think we just made too many mistakes in a row, and they were able to capitalize on our mistakes,” Braves coach Averi Kanyuh said.
Despite the errors, Kanyuh praised Gladstone’s libero, junior Jadyn Bovin and the team’s tenacity.
“Our libero (Bovin) did a great job in all three sets covering every ball,” she said. “And we fought really hard to come back the entire time.”
Gladstone travels to Kingsford Thursday.
