Mustangs take control early, rout BR-H
MUNISING — Five players scored in double figures for the Munising Mustangs, led by senior Austin Killips with 15 points and three 3-pointers in a 66-42 boys basketball victory over Bark River-Harris Tuesday.
Munising (13-1) jumped out to a 19-8 lead after one quarter, extending it to 33-19 at halftime and 52-27 by the end of the third quarter.
Senior Jesse Duran added 13 points, including 3 of 3 free throws, to the winning effort, while senior teammate Josh Huotari and junior Sam Brown had 12 points apiece. And freshman Kane Nebel got in on the act with 10 points.
Huotari was 6 of 8 at the free-throw line while Nebel sank a pair of triples.
Riley Bray paced the Broncos with 11 points and Nick Javurek had nine.
The Broncos host North Dickinson Friday.
