Bay women drop third straight
MILWAUKEE, Wis. — The Bay College women’s basketball team dropped its third straight game here Saturday, falling to Bryant & Stratton College 78-59.
The Norse (14-9) committed 30 turnovers, which was their biggest problem all afternoon. They turned it over on their first four possessions of the game, and after leading 9-4, they fell behind 19-9 after the first quarter.
The Bobcats (14-6), ranked No. 10 in NJCAA Division 2, built a 36-20 lead at halftime and didn’t look back in the second half.
Cierra Molina led the Norse with 14 points and four 3-pointers. Brooke Mannor chipped in 11 points and three triples, while Haley Trudell tripled three times to finish with nine points.
Marleah Drake led the Bobcats with 22 points. Kiarra Otto added 14 points, seven steals, six rebounds, five blocks and five assists, while Faith Wilkins chipped in 13 points and eight boards. La’Janique Perry-Ellis also had 13 points and seven rebounds.
The Norse shot 18 for 52 from the field and were outrebounded 37-36. The Bobcats were 31 for 69 and committed 16 turnovers.
These two teams meet again Saturday at Bay at 1.
