Youth basketball
ESCANABA — The Escanaba varsity basketball team will be hosting a five-week basketball camp for boys and girls in kindergarten through fifth grade at Escanaba Upper Elementary School every Saturday starting this Saturday.
The camp is for kids in the Escanaba and Holy Name School system. Fourth and fifth-graders report at 8 a.m., second and third-graders report at 9 and kindergarten and first-graders report at 10.
Cost is $30 and includes a T-shirt and five hours of instruction from Esky basketball coaches Tracy Hudson and Scott Hanson, along with varsity players. The emphasis of the camp is for children to have fun and learn the fundamentals.
Students can register on the first day of the program. Make checks payable to the Escanaba Boys Basketball Program, 500 S. Lincoln Road, Escanaba, MI 49829.

ESCANABA — The next Eskymo Fan Club meeting is Monday, Sept. 23 at 6:30 p.m. in the high school library.
Prins shoots ace
GLADSTONE — Carol Prins shot a hole-in-one at Terrace Bluff Golf Club Monday morning, using a 5-iron on the 128-yard No. 7 hole. It’s her second career hole-in-one.
