UCF spikers win title
ORLANDO — The University of Central Florida concluded an unbeaten season in the American Athletic Conference and will host a first-round game in the NCAA volleyball tournament.
The Knights swept University of South Florida 3-0 Wednesday for their 24th straight win in a 27-3 season. They will learn their tourney opponent Sunday night.
“I could not be more proud of the fight that this group showed. It’s the best I’ve ever coached,” said UCF coach Todd Dagenais, a native of Escanaba.
“I’ve never been around a team that was so locked in the moment and played for each other like this group,” said Dagenais.
